Well, Yes and No.

It may not be a good idea to remodel if you were just laid off or are starting a new job. It’s probably not a good idea if your adjustable rate mortgage went up and you are struggling to meet your house payments and it’s definitely not a good idea if you are living off of credit cards paying interest for everyday expenditures.

But let’s assume you’ve been on your job for awhile and your position is not in imminent danger. Let’s also assume you have chosen to live within your means and haven’t spent 6 cents for every nickel you’ve earned the last few years. And finally let’s assume that your credit is good and perhaps you even have some savings tucked away. Continue reading ‘Is Now a Good Time to Remodel My Kitchen?’ »

A garden cabin is only as good as the material used to make it. If you want your shed to be durable and easy to maintain, then it is best to go for a wood material like cedar.

Cedar – although much expensive than other wood materials like pine, for example – saves you more money in the long run. A cedar garden or log shed would prove to be worth the extra dollars as cedar is strong enough to withstand several outside factors that cause wood to fall apart. A log shed made of cedar could stand against extreme weather conditions, whether it be the icy coldness of winter or the scorching heat of summer. Even rapidly shifting weather would not easily damage your cabin. Continue reading ‘Advantages of a Cedar Garden Cabin’ »

One you have decided on the type of storage shed you want to build, think about the type of door you want to install. Roll up doors for storage sheds are excellent systems that benefit you in a number of ways.

The positioning of the storage shed in your yard is a consideration to the type of doors that can be installed. If space is limited, certain types of swing out doors will not be the most useful choice. Swing out doors will not be able to have a full radius of travel if space is limited. This will also limit your ability to totally utilize all the storage space in the shed. Without full access to the space, you may not be able to store larger items such as riding lawn mowers and attachments such as thatchers. I often hear the question, “what type of rug pad works best for thin rugs?”, I wanted to write a little about this topic. By thin rugs, we mean rugs that are made with a thinner, or flatter pile. These are often described as low profile rugs as well. Thin rugs could be new and they can also be antique. Navajo rugs, kilim rugs, antique persian rugs, sisal rugs, jute rugs and others are all considered thin or low profile rugs.

Initially, many people think of a thick rug pad to put under a thinner rug. This is a normal thought yet we need to be careful not to place a very thick rug pad under the rug. One aspect of thinner rugs is that their low profile has a nice look on the floor. In most cases, if we alter this look too much by raising the rug with too thick of a rug pad, the intended look of the rug is defeated. Continue reading ‘Rug Pads for Thin or Low Profile Rugs’ »

The installation process for artificial grass is quite simple and can be easily completed with a few everyday tools, which if you don’t have, can be purchased or rented at a local home improvement store. Some of those tools include: sod cutter, plate compactor, seaming tape, flat head rake, push broom, 6″-8″ carpet staples/flat head nails, wheel barrow, and carpet knife.

Just to give a quick explanation of an installation process, the following lists the steps:

1. Clear any existing grass or vegetation on area for turf, spray weed killer or grass blocker solution to ensure that no vegetation will grow under the turf area in the future. Continue reading ‘How to install Artificial Grass’ »

The C 120.2-6 PAD is an additional entry level, Nilfisk pressure washer. Choosing to employ a high pressure cleaner as opposed to a regular cleaning style eg using a bucket and brush, the job gets done faster, saving you water, money and time.

Nilfisk publisises itself as supplying ‘professional cleaning equipment that meets and exceeds the expectations of our customers’. We shall see. Click & Clean is the name of Nilfisk’s own developed ultra compact nozzle design. It’s function is to make it easy for the user of the power washer to inter-change nozzles and attachments. Accessories: Vario nozzle, Powerspeed nozzle, Patio Plus cleaner, detergent dosing bottle and foam applicator, washing brush and 15 m drain and tube cleaner. As you would expect from a product of this quality it comes with details such as a fine mesh filter protecting the pump from damage and a high-pressure overload valve. Power comes from the performance, maintenance-free 1700watt universal electric motor. Water supply up to 40 degrees Celsius can be used, though the cleansing performance with mains water is all that’s needed. The output pump is of the axial type, which provides output with low noise. To guarantee reliability the pump is constructed from metal. Aren’t they all? Well no, some use a tough polymer. Continue reading ‘Nilfisk C 120.2-6 PAD – Pressure Washer Review’ »
