The way people look at fireplaces changed drastically during the last couple of years. What used to be a way of heating your room or house in the past now became a decorative feature or a design centrepiece of the room.
Another great change in the fireplace industry was the electric fire – a direct result of the change I mentioned earlier. As the fireplace was no longer the main way of keeping us warm and became a lifestyle item people wanted their fireplaces in places with no gas connections or chimneys – the electric fireplace was born, easy to use, simple to install by anyone, everywhere. All you need is a socket and you can turn the room into a cosy, warm place for your family and friends. Continue reading ‘Fireplace Design’ »

There are two types of fiber optic cables called Endpoint and Endglow fiber optic cables. They are highly useful as they provide bright light and high intensity at the cut fiber end. As these carry no heat or electricity they can be used in swimming pools, wet locations and water features.
Some Areas where Fiber Optics can be utilised:
Indoors Features
Fiber Optic Lighting along with LED Lights can be used indoors as well contrary to popular belief that it is meant only for outdoors and display lighting. It can be used as decorative light fitting and can also be installed in the Starfield ceilings. As fiber optic lighting does not emit heat it can be easily installed in small and confined spaces without increasing the temperature in the area. Another very useful application of fiber optic lighting is as focus lighting for expensive artwork. As it does not give off any heat there is no danger of the artwork fading. Another advantage of fiber optic lighting is that as it is a remote operated lighting, it can be installed in non-traditional places where you can’t reach. They are also a good option for cabinets, as they do not give off any heat. Moisture also does them no harm so they can easily be used in bathrooms as well. Window treatments originally were made simply for functionality. Their function was to provide a necessary barrier against the elements in both the hot months of the summer and the cold of the winter. With today’s modern insulated windows the original functionality of these is not really needed but they are still used for the purpose of aesthetics. Window treatments help to bring together the theme of a room.
The first company to match up the window covering colours with their bedding set patterns was a company by the name of Croscill Bedding. The first matching patterns that Croscill offered were known as Arsenic and Old lace, coined from a popular Cary Grant movie. Because of their original ideas that were such a breakthrough in design, they have become one of the biggest names in themes for your bedroom. Today you can get and entire decorative motif from Croscill that spans from bedroom to bathroom. If you don’t have the funds for a professional interior decorator, you can shop Croscill and get everything that you need to successfully decorate your home in an elegant fashion on your own. Other companies soon followed suit, and today you can find window treatments for every room and any style imaginable. Many companies now offer patterns in similar colour schemes which can be mixed and matched to suit a variety of tastes. Any room, whether it is an apartment or inside in your home looks dull and boring if the interior design is only bold painted walls and simple ordinary furniture – just like a sterilized place for surgical treatment. Continue reading ‘Custom Copper Designs,Interior Design, Choice of Furniture’ »
