We met the husband and wife of this project at the Minneapolis “Lake Home & Cabin Show”. They came to us with a problem. He was an executive and she was a commercial architect.

Originally they purchased their lake property five years before our encounter. They planned on saving up and ultimately drafting the architecural plans themselves. However, without any third party to settle differences, the couple confided they were experiencing significant marital pressure through their own design process. Log cabins have been introduced in North America in the early 1700s. In the year 1862 in the United States, the Homestead Act had been enforced. It was a law that stated alll homesteaders were given the right of land, alll they needed to do was to cultivated the land and build a home which had been at the least ten feet by twelve feet. Also the home has to have on glass window.

At first log cabins had been built without the aid of nails to hold them together. They had been built by using huge logs that had been carefully put together producing a very strong house. These days log homes are choice for many people and they have everything that a regular home would contain.
